Austrains NR CLASS SOUND INSTALLATION
To suit new model with ditch lights - MFX NRA kit

To install your sound decoder in the NR you will have to start by removing the shell, there are number of lugs retaining the shell using a jewelers' screwdriver lift one corner of the shell and lever up each lug till it is free, once you have run around the premier of the shell it should look like the photo of the red NR, simply lift up the body shell and place to one side, no modifications to the shell is required.

Glue a piece of the plastic supplied with the kit to the frame as shown, ensure that the plastic clears the gearbox front by approx 1.5 mm

Tape down the decoder into the recess and loop the wires  and refit the 8 pin connector ensuring the orange wire goes to the number 1 pin on the plug, this is marked with a small asterisks or triangle on the plug PCB.

Mark one of the speaker wires for about 10 mm with a black pen then place a black dot onto the speaker lug which is attached to the wire and unsolder from the speaker. Using a length of brown wire extend the speaker wire to allow both wires to reach the speaker located at the front of the locomotive.

Drill 1.0 mm hole thru the speaker enclosure and feed the wires thru the hole into the speaker enclosure. Re-solder the wire with the black mark to the solder pad with the black dot.

Now slide the speaker cover down the wire and then glue the speaker cover to the top side of the speaker frame. Set aside and allow to dry.

Do not get glue onto the speaker.

    THIS PROCEDURE  IMPORTANT TO GIVE
 MAXIMUM SPEAKER PERFORMANCE

Carefully arrange the wires to fit closely to the body and tape down, clearance to the body is tight so be a neat as possible.

Test run the locomotive once satisfied with the operation refit the shell and the engine is ready for service
